Hallberg-Rassy 55, ultimate sailing luxury Stampa questa paginaNews Feed

Nominated by Expo Magazine’s independent sailing team ‘Expo Magazine’s Yacht of the Year 2015’, the Hallberg-Rassy 55 is an exceptional offshore cruiser.
Undisputed quality throughout the building process, attention to detail and seamanship make of this yacht the high end of production builders. Designed by Germán Frers, the Hallberg-Rassy 55 can easily take you from one side of the world to the other, even if you choose to sail it only for a summer day cruise in the Mediterranean.

The Hallberg-Rassy 55 has lots of natural light through large tempered glass portlights in the saloon, as well as four hull portlights and seven flush mounted skylight hatches, of which three are in the saloon alone. White painted wooden panels in the saloon alcoves further contribute to the spacious and inviting feel.
The rig has triple spreaders, which are only swept back three degrees resulting in extra stability and are not in the way when sailing downwind. Furthermore, there is an option for jumpstay that gives additional stability when using a permanent hydraulic cutterstay. The permanent cutterstay gives freedom and comfort for ocean crossings.

This new Hallberg-Rassy may well be defined the ultimate sailing toy for the seaman. You can feel luxury and sound building in every detail. The centre cockpit is large and well protected. At the helm you have a generous bridge to run the mainsail and the genoa, tacking winches, anchor windlass and nav lights. Below you feel a cozy and lightflooded ambiance. The yacht’s designed for a family or a couple with occasional friends. The aft owner’s cabin is enormous. A generous kitchen will support your best dishes while the saloon table will host in space and comfort your family and guests. The large chart table has  a sizeable library desifìgned to satisfy the most demanding  reader. A double cabin to starboard, forward of the saloon and a twin cabin in the bow complete the layout.

The D4-180 engine hums pleasantly and has plenty of torque even at 1100 RPMs. You can achieve 8 knots at 1400 RPM. Strongly contributing is the efficient optional three bladed, overdrive, folding propeller.

There is a large door and a walk-in engine room. It is carefully sound insulated and perforated aluminium plates also cover the insulation. In here all the technical equipment is found: low RPM main engine, low RPM generator with soundshield, double heaters, all pumps, filters, pressure equalizer for the fresh water system, AquaDrive flexible coupling for the engine shaft, high pressure pump for the watermaker, just to mention a few. All easy to maintain, all well sound insulated. The engine room lighting is 24 v, but there is also an optional 230v fluorescent light, with power supply from either the shore connection or the inverter. The Mastervolt inverter automatically and quickly changes between shore power and inverter, depending on what is available.
